10 random things

Dear Readers,
10 random things:

1. Over at FOLFOH, we started our Face2Face Friendship Groups. I am super excited to announce that we already have over 75 groups starting up all over the country (and even a few outside the US!). You should check out the group directory to see if there is a group in your area. I want to give a HUGE shout-out (and thank you!) to Angie for all her awesome work coordinating this new project. Ang-you rock!

2. Hello to all my new followers! I am excited to add a bunch of new blogs to my reader.

3. Big apologies to all my old followers. I have become an absolutely horrible blog commenter as of late. Please know I continue to read every post and am still here walking beside you (even if it seems like I've fallen off the blogosphere planet!)

4. I have been really bad about updating our food blog, but I am happy to report there has been zero unnatural/processed food consumed in our house since January 1st. I feel amazing! My energy level is way up, I've lost the 5-10 pounds that were still clinging from my pregnancy, and I just feel...good about myself. I highly recommend giving this thing a try (or at least heading in that direction).

5. I made the ultimate "chick mix" and have been totally rocking out to late-90's Mariah Carey (think 'Honey' and 'Butterfly'), R-E-S-P-E-C-T, Lady Gaga, No Doubt, Lily Allen, Regina Spektor, old Whitney, Celine, Janet, and Cher, Shakira, and the rest of my ladies this week. I don't know when I picked up this desire to dance all the time, but I've been shaking my booty all over the place--in the car, in the shower, cleaning the kitchen. Putting together a girly mix you can move to is another thing I highly recommend. :)

6. For the first time in literally eight months, I am happy that I'm not pregnant. For real! This could all change tomorrow, but today, I'm just oddly okay with my life the way it is. Is that weird??

7. I need to start reading again. Anyone have any good book suggestions? I'm in the mood for a good love story. And PS. no Nicholas Sparks :)

8. I am thinking about doing another giveaway when I reach 400 (400?!) followers. I'm leaning towards having it be for a set of Zumba DVDs because I am just loving Zumba and I think you all would too!

9. This is one of the funniest things I've read in a long time ('wait..what is this? I have to go to the bank? What am I, some sort of wizard?'). Can anyone else relate?

10. I still miss my little girl with all my heart. Even when I'm in one of those phases, like now, where the good days outnumber the bad, a part of me still feels not quite alive inside.

Love,
Kristin

I've heard of people feeling really good after stopping processed foods. It's no wonder w/ all the junk they stick in that stuff!

It is so wonderful to read your blog and "hear" the joy in your voice coming through! I'm glad you are feeling so good! You make me want to hop on the bandwagon and quit eating processed foods. Unfortunately, I rely on the college campus dining commons to make at least half of my meals, so I don't see that happening until I am out of college. Lol.

Wow! 400 followers?!?! When I started reading your blog, you only had about 10 or so! This blog sure has taken off!

I am always in a good mood when I can dance to music. It just puts a smile on my face and in my heart. It really changes my attitude.

I sit here in amazement every time I hear a new update about Faces. You and your friends are simply amazing at reaching out to so many.

Okay book suggestions...not really a love story, but if you haven't read it yet it's a must read...The Help by Kathryn Stockett. Otherwise a fantastic love story type book I'm reading now by Melissa Ford (Stirrup Queens herself) is called Life from Scratch...it is a wonderful read, laugh out loud type, you'd love it!

I love the no Nicholas Sparks thing. I couldn't agree more.

And it's so nice to hear that you're doing well and feeling good - that's awesome! Maybe someday I'll try the no-processed-foods thing, but right now, I just love my processed foods a bit too much to give them up. Someday :)

You are one amazing lady....with so much energy too! :) Congrats on happy days. And on almost 400 followers. Hold onto those happy days because no matter what, we'll always be here for you. ((hugs)) I don't have any new romance novels, but I love Jen Lancaster. She's awesome!! Totally writes like a blog writer.

Lovely to read your blog... I'm new to all of this and have only just started my blog a year after losing my little one at 20 weeks due to a clotting problem too :(
Face2Face Friendship Groups sound great... what are they ?
Not sure that we have them here in Australia... but would love to join/start one :)
Looking forward to sharing my journey with you from the other side of the world !! :))

I have to recommend the book The Help by Kathyn Stockett. It's one of the best books I've read in a long time. Or Northern Light by Jennifer Donnelly. I also just finished Sarah's Key which is quite dark but incredibly worth it and eye opening.

I also suggest The Help. My favorite love story of all time is To See You Again by Betty Schimmel.

I recommend the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich (it starts with One For The Money). They're funny mysteries that usually have me laughing out loud.

I am so thankful & happy for the lightness and happiness in this post! I'm so glad you're doing well. I love that right now your good days are outnumbering the bad. I know Stevie would love that too. Being happy definitely doesn't make me think you miss her any less.

I can definitely see where a girly mix like that would make you dance around everywhere. I need to make one and get my butt moving! I also need to cut out processed foods. That would probbaly be an extremely smart move on my part - I just need to find the drive & self-control for it!

SO good to hear from you :)

Yay for the last few pounds and lots of new-found energy! We are about 95% natural/organic in our house (my big push...DH couldn't really care one way or the other, unfortunately, but as long as I push it, he's on board), and have been this way for about 2 years now. The difference it makes is amazing. People scoff when I suggest how detrimental all of the chemical additives are, but I am a big believer. I am also a big believer that said chemical additives have a lot to do with the rise in the incidence of autism.

Sadly, I also don't have the time to read and comment like I used to. Sometimes I feel bad about it, but I think that sometimes it's a good thing to not constantly immerse ourselves in the 'negatives' of our losses (as opposed to the good things that can come out of them, like FOLFOH). I think sometimes that constant immersion can impede the healing process.

Keep up the fabulous work with everything!!

Right there with you about being a bad blogger and keeping up with comments and posts! BUT keeping up as much as I can and certainly keeping so many on my heart! I was thinking about you this morning and what amazing things you have done in your grief. Every time I see a faces post on fb, which is about the only thing I can sort of keep ip with!, I just think about how much good has come from such sorrow. It's inspiring and hopeful and just amazing. Sending you lots of love and am grateful to read the happy in your voice!

I, too, am feeling happy not to be pregnant this month. It's the first time in a long time where I didn't get pangs of sadness when I got my period.
We'll see how I feel next month.

I'm pleased to read that you're feeling rather 'up' these days. Surviving this sort of loss is such a whirl-wind and the good days are such a relief from the not-so-good days. I hope you keep rocking out to your chick mix and keeping up with the good food thing. I admire you for that and am looking forward to reading more on you food blog (get to work!). Also - I've awarded you a blog award (or three?). If you feel like participating the details are over on my page.
